The idea behind Uber emerged from the need to solve a problem.

The problem that was probably faced by millions of individuals before.

But the two founders had rich technology experience, having founded companies before.

That skillset allowed them to develop a technology enabled solution for the problem.

Using an existing technology.

And in the process, they created a new category, a new market, of which they became category leader?

Out of the three components of people, processes and technology, which component played the most important role in helping build this category.

The component that identified the problem and then was able to leverage skillset to architect the solution.

Technology component was secondary.

Yet, we prioritize technology over everything else when we think about building technology categories.
