Should technology roadmaps be about solely technology?
While the common sense answer may seem “yes”, I beg to differ.
The way we think about roadmaps and design them, it becomes more like a vision rather than an execution journey map.
And whether we accept it or not, the driver behind this approach is that roadmaps have become more of a marketing document than a document that can be used to upgrade technology capabilities.
Organizations tend to insert all jazzy technology buzzwords, features and functionalities in roadmaps so that boxes can be checked-off.
But that is not what roadmaps should be about.
In this episode of “Think About It”, we discuss why roadmaps can be a solution to the confused state of technology capability building that many organizations face.
